“Making the love of Jesus real to the next generation”

Southgate Kids is an exciting place to be! Our goal is to provide a safe and fun environment where kids can learn about Jesus and experience His love for them on a personal level. Our staff and volunteers are passionate about kids and seeing them grow in the ways of God. Southgate Kids is characterized by love, enthusiasm and passion and we would love to have you come and check out what God is doing in the lives of His children!

SUNDAY MORNINGS
On Sunday mornings, the kids stay in the worship service with their families, and are dismissed right after the announcements. We offer the following classes during both of our services, all year round:

Nursery (0-1 year) – Room 101
Toddlers (1 yr. olds) – Room 102
Walkers – (2 year olds) – Room 103
Preschool (3 & 4 year olds) – Room 104
Kindergarten & Grade 1 – Room 106
Grade 2 & 3 – Room 105
Grade 4 & 5 – Room 107

What will my child learn in Southgate Kids? What curriculum do you use? The focus of Early Childhood (birth—age 5) is teaching foundational truths about God.

In the Nursery & Toddlers classrooms, a curriculum called Baby Beginnings is introduced. Our goal in using this curriculum is to individually (one-on-one) teach each baby & toddler through natural learning activities, what he or she can begin to learn about God. Toddlers are introduced to these truths through small picture books and songs each week.
A more structured curriculum (First Look) is introduced for the first time in Walkers (age 2). This consists of an interactive Bible story, songs and a craft.

In Preschool (ages 3 & 4), an emphasis is placed on life application from Biblical truths. We use First Look, where an interactive Bible story is used, songs, games and a craft.

In late childhood (kindergarten through grade 5) we use 252 Basics curriculum. Each week, trained volunteer leaders facilitate learning in a fun and exciting environment so kids will leave Southgate Kids knowing God’s truth (Bible story & key verse), why that truth is important for living today (relevance), and how to apply the truth in their own life (application), through both a small group & a large group format.

Check-in is located at either of the 2 computer kiosks in the SG Kids hallway.

Staff & Volunteers
All teachers and assistants that are in the classroom have gone through a Southgate Kids Training. Along with the training, an application form is filled out and a criminal record check is submitted.
